Nina Braun is immersed in an analogue world, where the obsession with material and her devotion to each individual object emerges from her very personal imagery.
Her approach to materials like wool and fabric are the base for her sometimes child-like and naive objects that result from an intensive working process. Considering that we are living in a digital era where economical aspects of the working process prevail and thoughts and images can be infinitely reproduced, Nina Braun’s approach to work is quite revolutionary.

>02.2008.: Chaos Imminent!
Christophe Lambert has scraped his knees resisting the obvious paths of a young artist. His eclectic body of work includes films, illustrations, graphic design, sculpture and collage, making him the original luxury punk. Always DIY, and always invited warmly into various avant-garde scenes (beer and entry exchanged for Christophe’s work on flyers, posters, whatever and wherever), his is a constant work in progress. Recognizing stable tendencies in his productions is not obvious. What is revealed in this anxiety is an artist who constantly manipulates and re-appropriates, taking anything and everything sacred and pulling at it until it is profane once more.

Grafitti- and Street-artist boris hoppek is challenging every surface: taking his strong characters not only onto walls, but also on various materials from all kinds of backdrops (furniture, papers, blinds, advertising posters etc.) to huge sculptures he builds from used cardboard boxes and sewing his main character, the bimbo, in his different incarnations as small puppets.

alex diamond is an artist who apparently lives solely through the art he creates - and vice versa. he plays mind tricks with visual aids, pleasing at one moment, disturbing in the next. independent from styles and techniques, he mirrors life and our constant fight for possession, superiority, survival and love in an almost nonchalant way.

McKee’s process is a combination of photography and painting. First creating the photograph, then printing it onto the surface (canvas, wood panel, hand-made paper, etc.) by use of a photographic emulsion. McKee spends the majority of time working with oil paint to bring out the desired expression in his works. To experience the works in person is to realize the depth, layers and subtlety created with the oil paint married to the photographic emulsion. The final work is neither a photograph, nor a painting, but something directly in between with the qualities of both.

> 08.2005 grunert & 56k
56k is a Hamburg based artist who is deeply rooted in gemany's urban-art-scene since years. He was among the first graffiti writers who tried to break with the existing boundaries of this scene to express his ideas and visions in a wider context. His ability in character-design and conceptual artworks are outstanding and brought him to the heliumcowboy artspace for the 1st time in 2005. The next Soloshow in 2007, "Everything counts in large amounts!" was a brilliant example of an exhibition with a 56k-like concept which brings this one idea to perfection, explorable in every single piece.

Kimbara shows her poetic, almost vulnerable and elusive drawings she creates in a diary-like fashion, capturing the moment and questioning the ordinary of daily life with huge precision. Her creativity is not bound to those subtle drawings, but is taken into various medias from animation to movie-making. Irrespective of format or media, Akane Kimbara surprises with almost humble, very melancholic and always highly intuitive and self-reflecting stories. Her style is a blend of asian and western culture – she studied in Tokio at Tama University, before moving to Germany a few years ago.
