young romanian artist luiza mogosanu is a very fresh voice in contemporary art. she focuses on life, lust and glamour while centering her work solely around her person, knowing that she - or the artist she is - stands in as a representative for the desires of our times.
in her work she uses a clear and colorful language, showing a spectrum of eye-catching imagery, hinting at the erotic angle by chosing sections of her body, details of her life and emotional quotes to write the script of a glamourous show.
mogosanu is not confined to painting, instead she uses a variety of means to tell her story and create the dreams she shares with us today, everyday. exhibitions by luiza mogosanu are always stagings of a conceptional show without boundaries, in which the presence of the artist is vital and creates an environment where the spectator becomes a part of the installation.
luiza mogosanu was born in 1980 in craiova, romania. she studied fine arts at the university of art and design in cluj-napoca. her first exhibition outside her home country was DREAMAX, shown at the heliumcowboy artspace in hamburg november 2004.
