> 02.2005.: 44flavours
44flavours is a german art collective consisting of the three young artists Lutz Lindemann, Sebastian Bagge and Julio Rölle. Knowing each others since their early graffiti-period whilst still at school, they have developed a consistent and distinctive visual language over the past years, respectlessly using and combining different techniques such as spraying, illustration, painting, photography, silk screen-printing, digtal media, sewing - to name a few.
Nurturing from a background and university education in visual design merged with their street-experience, 44flavours are part of a new breed of young artists strongly expressing their generations view on life without the focus on self-awareness often used by the street art and graffiti movement.
In their first show at the heliumcowboy artspace in february 2005, "privat ist im kommen", they took this approach even further by "stealing" elements and ideas from each others personal lifes, and mixing them to a unique visual experiment. Being used to working large scale and in any kind of environment, they apply their styles and techniques to gallery rooms and exhibition venues with the same nonchalance as to the urban landscape.
44flavours are also the publishers of the magazine of the same name, which serves as a platform for young and fresh talents, carefully selected by its three publishers.
