For their inaugural solo exhibition in Europe, Pandarosa, or 'the PANDAS' as they are dearly known, have been slightly disorientated by their most recent European migration from the land Down-under, Australia.
It could be the winterise 16:30 sunsets in Berlin or the foreignness of 03:30 sunrises & 23:30 sunsets in Stockholm during summer time, that have altered their perception of time and place. Or maybe it's the simple fact that giant Pandas don't hibernate during winter because they can't store up enough fat reserves.
Perhaps they are melancholy for long summer months & scorching 37° degrees days back in Australia.
As communication becomes mere hand signals and gestures the pandas yearn for the comfort and relation of the familiar, while adapting to the strange alteration of hibernating indoors to get away from the cold. And at the same time finding respect and appreciation for 'what is familiar' between foreign & accustomed worlds.

This visual journey allows us to reminisce of nostalgic comforting familiarities from home & makes us realise, visualise and conceive the differences and similarities between northern and southern hemisphere. It also returns the pair to their childhood, in Chile and Hungary, where life was much simple and timeless.
Through a series of works on paper, wood, vinyl & large scale mural pieces Ariel & Andrea of Pandarosa, will explore the abstract notion of 'time', aspects of adjusting & reveal the difference 'time' can play on each of us. The installation aims to create a portrait of the pair immersed in their own creative wonderland, and interacting with the 'dream world' of time.

Information about Pandarosa
Ariel Aguilera & Andrea Benyi are the duo behind Pandarosa.
Together they've created projects for clients such as Adidas, Lee, Volkswagen, Euroluce, Julia DeVille & Platform artist group Inc.
The studio has expanded their visual approach to not only include graphics, but also outcomes in illustration, exhibition, installation & interior based projects.
Their unique illustration work have appeared in many Australian magazines titles like Black & White, Inside, Poster and Artichoke, as well as international titles including Grafik, Tokion, Icon and Frame. They have also been featured in book publications like ‘Wonderland’, ‘Hidden Track’, ‘Graphics Alive’ & many others.
Their work aims to not only describe but also stimulate the imagination.
Just like the imagination, there is no trend as to where the image is leading, but rather a presentation of carefully constructed randomness.
They have a commitment towards a process where thinking, dreaming and researching are valued & aim to break the preconceived idea that design & art cannot co-exist.
