Entries in Alex Diamond (44)
In case you missed it: here's the full video from the clubkinder artist talk with heliumcowboy founder and artist Jörg Heikhaus aka Alex Diamond, which was held on January 22 at our gallery. Jörg was interviewed by Jannes Vahl, founder of the social organisation clubkinder e.V., which supports social projects in Hamburg. Jörg donated one of his trademark Alex Diamond-photodrawings (see here), which was auctioned for the benefit of Sport ohne Grenzen e.V., a youth basketball project in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg.
Below: 2nd part of the artist talk with the questions from our visitors.

We cordially invite you to the second clubkinder Artist Talk at heliumcowboy on January, 22 | 7 pm. This time Hamburg based artist Jörg Heikhaus aka Alex Diamond will talk about himself and his artwork. As a kind of veteran of the Hamburg art scene, he will share his oberservations and assessments of the current situation of art and the art market in Hamburg. And hopefully it will lead this evening to insightful discourses.
About Alex Diamond:
Alex Diamond was initiated as a stand-alone art project by Jörg Heikhaus in 2004. Although it has outlived its original intent, it has become his stage name as an artist.
Essentially being a determined and straightforward storyteller, most of his artwork can be seen as an exploration of contemporary culture and its recurring social recognition patterns, with strong references to popular content and aesthetics.
Known for skillfully employing a vast variety of different techniques and crafts over the years, the majority of his oeuvre today consists of his distinctive trademark woodwork: multi-layered, meticulously and highly detailed sculptural woodcuts, blended with diverse painting and pigmenting styles.
The non-profit association clubkinder is an important institution for Hamburg. They raise funds for social projects and they do it in their own way and with what they do best : culture and media.
